Access to Contacts Trees

Could we possibly have a facility whereby if someone gives us access to their tree, especially when we have not asked for it and upon looking the the tree we find their is no familial context could we have a button to remove that tree from our tree list.

I have about 20+ trees in my list which have no bearing to my research and despite asking these people to remove my access they just do not bother.

I certainly do not need to see trees that are of no interest to me.....

Good idea

I have loads of tree access, only because of helping on threads, which are of no interest to me

Thanks for that GlitterBaby

I just get fed up with people giving me access just 'cos I have helped them via a pm etc., obviously no relation - why would I want to see their tree.

Then there are a few I have access to which only have about 10 people on them...... GRRRR

Very good idea!

I'm fed up with people contacting me, asking about surnames (no other details) and giving me access to a tree with less than 10 names on it........ I have access to at least four trees with one , yes ONE name. There are LOADS of trees I don't want access to on my list.

I'll help anybody, but I don't give access to everyone. I've spent years and lots of money on this............I'm turning mean and cranky in my old age lol :-D

Why even bother? - GR have far more important things to sort out rather than spending scarce programing resources on this.

I don't care one iota if someone gives me access to their tree and I have no interest. I simply delete the contact and get on with the more important things in life.

I agree IGP. why does it matter how many people give you access to their tree?

I have about 150 I do not want, I just do not look at them..and the two I have that do have my family in I'm not interested in those either to be honest

Just want a leaner more efficient site.

No it is not a problem and Yes I can ignore the trees I do not need, but I like my personal records to be kept clean and relevant.

Unlike my desk....... I am now restricted to a space of about 8 sq. ", where I can put my paperwork!!!!

Hi everyone, as Inspector Green Pen say above, if you simply delete that person as a contact then you will no longer have access to their tree.

Kind regards,

Estelle

Not that it matters to me......but what if you have never had contact with that person? You do not get a pm from them saying they have given access anymore

I have quite a few like that

Looks like you need to have contact now before you can share your tree Sylv

I just tried it out...I must be bored :-D

Hi Jax, it might be that they contacted you via Hot Matches. In that case the tree access box is ticked as a default setting so unless they untick it themselves then you will have access to their tree. You'll get the email from them about the Hot Match with automatic permission to view their tree.

Kind regards,

Estelle

Yes - I know that deleting that person from my contacts removes my access to their tree, but their name remains in my tree list. So not much cop there then. I would like their names removed when I stop/delete contact...
