When I go to my threads I get very disappointed when I see just how many show that I am the last person to post on that thread.

I know that sometimes people will come back see the replies and leave it there. A Thank You at the end would not go amiss. And the title being amended to show - COMPLETED at the end would assist those who are willing to help no looking at threads that have done their job.
:-D

Totally agree Rose

and yesterday's events were very disturbing.

As Roy said, the worst case I have seen.

notwithstanding the fact that those things should not have been posted to paid staff either.

Totally agree Rose

when after members giving help and advice on more than 5 threads of which most are duplicates and then goes on to say Why AM i BEEN IGNORED I WAS PROMISED SUPPORT AND HELP FROM THE MEMBERS OF THIS SITE,

because info was not given immediately as in I'm asking now and i want the answer now

and then starts yet another thread about being ignored

Then starts to single members out and accuses them of bullying and making their illness worse and threatens to report this to the management

and all because the help and advice given was not what that member wanted to hear

that is the worst case i have seen but their are plenty of new members think that the members helping are GR staff

Quite agree Rose.
They could also add Please go back to your post so that the volunteer helpers know you have seen their replies.
It really annoys me when I see posts with several lots of information which appear to have been totally ignored by the OP.

phrasing in your stickied advice post on 'Find Ancestors"

"Please don't post about the same person or family twice as this can make extra work for the volunteer helpers."

It would appear to me (in the light of responses on a recent thread) that some newer posters think this implies that the "volunteer helpers" are unpaid 'employees' of GR who have volunteered their time much as one might volunteer to work in a charity shop, and are therefore 'available on demand' as it were..

Please make it clear that the 'volunteers' are other paying members, as you have in the guidelines thread on FLR ie:

"Also note that the people helping on the message board are NOT employed by Genes Reunited, therefore it is always appreciated when you say Please and Thank you. Members are helping you for free and any looks ups are paid for out of their own subscriptions."

None of the helpers begrudge the time they spend helping others, it is a pleasure to do so, but the helpers also deserve NOT to be taken for granted ( IMHO).
