Changes to GR site on 1 Aug 2012

As someone who enjoys the forums, as of this morning, I realise that I will probably be unable to take part in the GR community, providing help and advice to others.
I suffer from light sensitivity and wear heavily tinted, prescription glasses.
Even with these, the "new look" screen is still too bright.I have turned down the brightness on my PC, but it serves no real purpose as the text becomes too faint, causing severe eyestrain.
I did enjoy participating but unless a change is made, I can no longer take part

Ditto and I am really disappointed as all these things were pointed out repeatedly by those of us who tested the Beta site.

I am just about to email support before I go off for an hour to rest my eyes.

Think positively.

It should cut down peoples electricity bills as there is no longer the need to have the room lights on whilst surfing Genes Reunited. ;-)

Woohoo!
Techno- geek daughter fixed this for me...haven't a clue what she did, but so long as I use Firefox, I have a pale grey screen with a larger, darker font!
Edit:
She showed me what to do and I have been playing with the settings.
I now prefer a pale pink background !
However, note that the change is reflected on any other site visited using this search engine.

I have just improved things (for me) by increasing the page size to 125%. It means part of the page is off the screen, but at least I can read it!
