Most regulars have something in their box as do you....Not that I have had it much but newbies think what is in that box is aimed at them and will sometimes make a comment.....then you have to explain that it comes up after every post

I have removed my Ancestors birth places from my box as it wasn't really relevant.....not looking for help or contacts

Dear GR

Please can other people's 'Researching' bit not show in General Chat unless you hover over it?

It would make it a lot easier to follow the conversations, which, after all, are not about Research if they are on the General Chat Board :-D :-D :-D

Edit: PS I know the original post was a long time ago but it also says on here that Duplicate Posts will be removed and I didn't want to duplicate Jonesey's post ;-)

I sent an email to GR (I'm sure many of you have also) about the size of the "Researching" bit. Suggested it be done in a smaller font and perhaps in italics.

Got a response.........

"Thankyou for reporting this problem"

Sigh.

:-P

14th :-D

I keep starting to read people's 'Researching' sections as posts, even with 'Researching' being written in bold :-(

I wish you wouldn't do that Sylvia, the glare from all that white space can hurt people's eyes.

I've taken to hitting Enter to give several blank lines after the end of my posting!

9th - make that 10th - you posted while I was typing GB

since when has the member info (when joined & no of posts) disappeared unless hovering the mouse over the avatar area?

I rather like that as it increases the no of posts you can see on one page (I think!)

just noticed this applies the send message box too

I would also like to see the colours reversed for the preview & submit boxes on a reply

It does if you haven't added any Researching points KenSE, but for newbies, it's probably quite confusing. I have to concentrate for a second to differentiate between a posting and the Research bit.

Surely the avatar makes it clear where a post begins.

I am finding one line replies getting lost on here when there is no white space, and peoples researching details getting read over and over, as though it is part of the reply
