That is a nice idea. Unfortunately there is virtually no chance that Genes staff will see your request, let alone implement it.

They no longer even look at postings on this Board, and only rarely at any other postings by members

I am one of 2 or 3 other members who keep an eye on this Board and let new posters know it is useless ot do so.

I wish GR would check their records as they have be married to the wrong person. It is only a simple mistake in the surname. I have pointed it out before but just get brushed off with poor excuses. :-(

It is the Lifeline that is the most interesting thing to me. I almost joined Family Historian this morning and I may be mistaken, but I don't see any obvious Timeline or Lifeline on their site.

It's just that I like to see the way someone's life unfolded on the Lifeline You get a Lifeline on Genes Reunited, while on Ancestry it's a Timeline On GR, I date a photo and put it on the Lifeline and this gives me an opportunity to type something interesting below.

Hi would love the option to add a bit of colour, is it possible to add a theme button and choose a better back ground colour instead of the plain white, it is so boring, thanks for letting us all have a say in what we all want.

Sorry, your posting on here will provide no help ...............

GR staff no longer keep an eye on this Board (and many of us wish they would get rid of it!). There are a few members like myself who do look out for new posts.


Please re-post your query on the Genealogy Chat Board, and I am sure that someone will have an idea for you.

My first thought is the KeepSafe, but I don't use it and I'm not sure that it would do what you want it to do.

Apologies if it is already there, but could there be a photo pool for trees?

For example, i have several family photos that we are not sure of who they are, but we know they are family members. someone researching the same tree may know who they are.

You could create a file/folder for trees to add photos of unknowns, for other researchers to have a look at an possibly identify them.

GR no longer looks on this Board. They said a couple of years ago that they were no longer going to do so.

GR also seem to no longer be doing much upkeep on the site

Meanwhile ............ do you know that if you hover your mouse pointer over a member's name, their membership number will show somewhere on your monitor. It shows on my screen for example down in the bottom left corner?

When searching correspondence could we have an additional box for membership number? If we have a lot of contacts with the same name it is difficult and time consuming trying to identify that you have found the right person's file eg. there may be a lot of David Joneses or Mary Robertses in your correspondence files - it would help enormously.
