Am very disappointed in the progress you have made since I re-signed up - and PAID - for a full service. Just tried to research my G-G-G- grandfather born in 1778 using your Parish Records for B,M & Ds and you do not even record events that I know are in the Essex County Records Office.

So apart from catching up using the 1911 Census for free, I am very disatisfied with my attempts to resolve a number of issues that go back into the 17th and 18th centuries.

Have not used the site for 2-3 years and so sorry that more is not available and that you have not really enhanced the site.

Not good value for money

If you want to see Essex records you will have to subscribe to the Essex Record Office's service. It is something like £5 per day upto £75 per year. It is images only so you can't search, you just have to browse.

Unfortunately it is not easy to find out what records family history sites have until you join.

If you ask on Find Ancestors someone may have an ERO subscription and be prepared to look for you.

Hello David,

Have you tried putting a request for help onto the Find Ancestors board?

It's always worth a go as there are many helpful members willing to help out. Cx

David,
I had a similar problem when i joined find my past for parish records. They did not have the relevant ones. When i explained the problem and asked for some refund , they refused.

Before joining anything, make sure you know exactly what they have to offer, as it can be very misleading.
