Why must our credits expire? The bank doesn't take all your money away if you don't make any transactions. This seems unethical to me.

EXCEPT .......... most sites that offer the option to buy credits do set an expiry date.


GR actually has one of the longest periods before credits expire ................. some other sites have only a month or 3 month periods. OOOPs ....... I meant the most expensive of looking ar records


Buying credits is about the most expensive way of looking at credits .................... why not look at getting a subscription in a site???


I don't know what you are using your credits for ...........

..... but, for example, bmd indexes are available for free on www.freebmd.org.uk from July 1 1837 (when registering began) to about 1960.

BMDs from 1960 to 2005/6 can be viewed on ancestry ............. for a fee.

Parish registers can be seen on www.familysearch.org/ ....... for free

or some counties have parish clerk records ........... called online parish clerks.

Google your county to see if they are available. Lancashire is very well covered.

You can see the 1881 Census for free on ancestry and on familysearch


on and on it goes.



I myself would not buy credits as a regular option without ensuring that it was the best deal available.
