BROKEN THREADS

I think the cost of storage would be negligible, particularly as messages and old trees are mostly text.

However as the number of threads, messages and trees is continually increasing the processing involved is also increasing as evidenced by occurrences of the dreaded error message.

If somebody left and came back later and was still trying to find an answer to the question on an old thread of theirs, they could add a new post to that thread saying that they were still looking for information.
Also, if somebody returned, it would be nice for them to still have their tree here, so they wouldn't have to do it all again.
I wonder though how much of our subscription fees goes towards the cost of keeping all those old threads and old trees on here. :-S

don't forget, no member is removed from GR unless they themselves have cancelled their sub AND asked to be removed.

Or GR has permanently banned someone

Otherwise, a member who has not renewed their sub just drops down to Free Member status.

which means they still show as a member, even if non-active or dead!

You cannot tell if someone has left or not or even changed their email address.

The only time you can tell, is when they have deleted their account and it will tell you when trying to send a pm...when you will see this message

It is not possible to send a message to this member. Their account may be deleted.
