T.J. Report 23 Feb 2008 22:00

I am having big problems with my Mother's side of the family. I have her Mother Winifred Elizabeth Harrison married William George Fowler 1920, Islington, London.

I have my maternal Grandmother's birth certificate which gives her parents as John Henry Harrison & Julia Harrison formerly Bassett, and her name as Winifred Eliza. but I am having trouble finding John & Julia's marriage...I have searched for hours. I thought if I ordered my Grandmother's death certificate I may find a bit more info, but it has thrown up another obstacle, as my aunt registered the death and put my Grandmother's maiden name as Bateman. Her marriage cert has her father as John Henry Harrison (Deceased). Can anyone help please?

What was John Henry Harrison's profession?

There is a man of that name in Islington on the 1901 who is a student Church of England and is 33.
He's born in Newcastle on Tyne

Several don't mention a middle name

No John Harrisons turning up anywhere who were window cleaners in 1901. I think he must have had a different occupation then.

Thanks Kate, but Julia's maiden name was Bassett, and the daughter Julia on that census would be too young. My Gran was born in 1903.

Odd

I can only access the 1901 decoder so can't see the proper census image.

I wonder if they ought to be together but are on pages next to each other
