Are they in Pancras? Because that is so close to where they were living when Winifred was born.

This is sounding very hopeful, Sue....prehaps that is why I was having so much trouble.

If they ought to be together he is John Henry Harrison and is 32 born London and is living in St Pancras. His occupation is not known so it makes me think he wasn't at home.
The Julia Harrison in St Pancras is 33 and is born in Somerset (some place down as Pendomer.......not sure where that is)

Think we may have to discount the Julia I found. Assuming the one on the census is Julia James Bassett, she married Alfred John Southon or Albert William Greenslade in 1908.

Back to the drawing board . . .

Thanks Kate, I will have to research these Bassetts...I don't know how I missed them when I've been searching before. Tired eyes, maybe.

Sue, this sounds another good possibility, because of the St.Pancras and a John & Julia Harrison....Somerset would is a surprise.

We need someone with Ancestry to look and see if Julia is married or single.

I only have the sneaky free 1901 decoder which doesn't allow full access.

That Julia from Cornwall is married to Frederick Harrison, aged 34, a police constable, born in East Coker, Somerset.
Looks like they have two sons - Archibald, aged 10, and Frederick aged 6.

It says Julia's husband is Frederick, so not her.

That Julia is married to Frederick also born Somerset.

Clark Caleb Henry Kensington 1a 419

Could your Julia be a second wife? Or could they perhaps not actually have been married?

Sue, Kate....Where would you go from here? It is looking like they were not yet married in 1901. I haven't found a marriage in the 5 years previous, well I haven't been able to find a marriage for these two.
