Goodness! I didnt realise how much there was.
Im not sure if it was worth paying the subscription at the moment. I dont really understand what GR can do that the free ones cannot.

GR is not a source of information in itself but it is a method of people getting in contact.

It isn't sensible to use GR credits because there are cheaper ways of doing research but the subscription enables you to make contacts and to ask fellow members for help. People with subscriptions are often able to do lookups and are happy to do so.

Without GR I would not have made a lot of really valuable connections and I wouldn't have been able to progress as quickly on my family tree,

The list I have made of useful sites are in addition to GR.

a bit like freebmd but useful for looking at Lancashire relies. You can also send off for certs £7.00 using their printable forms. The reference numbers they give are for their use not for GRO
