Ignore pompous and sarcastic. First they post pompous and sarcastic and then looks up information as good as gold like the rest of us.

Being thanked is always nice. So thank you for saying thanks.

Hi MC. Waving at you you old bat :-P :-D

Still giving the world hell today I hope.

Hi Linda, the people on this thread know I'm not renowned for saying nice things (in a jokey way) but I must say it's people like you who make it worthwhile. I guess we know at least one person who fits the description you give!

WELL.. I think you are brilliant. I have had so much help on here over the years..although there is one person on here who, if they answer anything, is always pompous and sarcastic. I just ignore them, their post, and carry on.

Many thanks to all you other lovely people......and please don't stop helping

Linda

Aw Jan. What sad news and a fitting eulogy for a passed Member. A sudden death is a shock to anyone, even if they are like you, internet friends.

Although I can’t recall ‘talking’ to Lindsey* on the boards, hers was a familiar name. Now you’ve drawn it to our attention, she has been missing for a while, but as people come and go all the time, others had probably assumed she’d let her subs lapse.

Unless someone can recall if her Passing had been announced, do put up a thread on General Chat. Your posting as above should be sufficient (without mention of the Alien John!)

Hi, not sure if people know or if this would be the right place to put this but the thread is about how helpful GR members are about look-ups.....

I started researching my tree in about 2008 and had no idea to how to begin or what sites to look at...after posting some questions on here I was contacted by Lindsey* who I subsequestly became very very good "internet friends" with. We exchanged personal email addresses and chatted ancestry and non ancestry subjects. Without her my tree would not be as complete, my ability to "detect" and follow leads would not be as good.

Sadly Lindsey* passed away very suddenly in May this year :-( I don't think she would have wanted me to make a huge thread announcement...mind you on the other hand she may well have done lolol...I don't know how many people knew her or were helped by her but if you no longer see her about you now know why. XXXX For Lindsey, friend, mentor, inspiration....

and many thanks to all who help when things get sticky!!

<~~~~~~ still stuck on Josiah Daniel Firmin 1813 (ish) got marriage/kids/death...but he wasn't "born" think aliens dropped him in Stratford Essex...apparently a link on another website PAID a researcher to find him and still turned up nothing, think the Maplestead records are missing :o/

Hi Sylvia,

(Edit) Hi MC,

Oh dear. Me thinks that Gins might just be ignoring me now ;-)

Of course she could be out on the town?

Getting hammered?

Dancing the night away?

Or maybe?

?

?

Acting really strangely and being nice to people :-D

My turn to hide behind the settee now Gins. <3 <3 <3
