Can’t view my tree at the moment, anything I can do?

Just wait?

Same for me at the moment. There was another thread about the problem last night. I doubt it will be fixed any time soon.

Oh dear - they thought they'd fixed that :-(

If they can't manage it before they all disappear for their Christmas Break, can we expect credits/a couple of days extension to our membership?

For the past couple of hours I have had the same message.

Very frustrating indeed.

This error is caused by some sort of screw up by the host site, usually in the software. As ever GRU seem unable (a) to stop mucking about with the stable working version of the code (b) roll out untested updates on victims stet users (c) go and hide, this time with excuses of the end of the world. Old habits die hard. GRU have always been especially fond of this kind of thing just before a wet weather weekend or a holiday ...

If you want the chapter and verse here it is:

This is the best fix for Microsoft IIS 7.0 web servers

So if I have understood correctly, this error would typically occur if the site was running at reduced capacity and too many people tried to access their trees at the same time?

The error has been intermittant for me and does seem to occur at times of peak demand.

Guess what? This stupid error is back, Genes stuffed my tree building last Christmas when I could open my tree but not add anything to it, and now a year later I can't even open it.
I have been very patient with them up until now.!!!! :-\ :-\ :-\ :-| :-| :-|

Just checking in from Canada ... and got the 503 error as well. Seems to me that this site has gone downhill since I joined as a newbie about four years ago. Shame, as it used to be fun to go on and read about all the helpers, and also received assistance as well. Won't be renewing on Dec 31st this year. What with all the errors, the very wierd updates on the site, and the loss of so many good people .....

Hi everyone, we are really sorry about this. We have had problems with 2 of our servers which have caused this error. We have re-booted them and the tree is now working properly again.

Kind regards,

Estelle

Whilst we are to be thankful that the tree function is now working again, another of the site's functions is not .The "search trees" function is not.

William Report 28 Dec 2012 14:23

Well I'm very surprised that according to the search trees function that there is no one that has a John Hughes born in 1935!

William

I have just tried it and have found 90 matches for John Hughes 1935

William

William Report 28 Dec 2012 15:01

Still none showing for me with exact year only named in the search.

JerryH

JerryH Report 28 Dec 2012 15:28

I get the same as Jax -- that is 90 exact matches.

Could this be a compatability problem with your browser?

Would suggest you contact Support. If you use the "Contact Us" rather than just sending an email then it will "collect" your Operating System and Browser information which may help them to advise you.

Are you putting the surname in the first name box?
