Would it be worth contacting the British Embassy who may have record of a death?

Thanks for the response.
He had 9 siblings, who produced 20 children, of which maybe 2 or 3 are alive.
However as he 'went of the radar' in the late 50's, it seems little is known about his activities - other than rumours !

What research have you done yourself?

Do you think he died in Zimbabwe?

I have no idea how you would trace a death for that country ?

Born 17 Nov 1911 in West Ham.
Married Eileen Webb 7 Dec 1938.
1938-1947 Lieutenant Royal Norfolk Reg.
1952 Major Royal Engineers.
Divorced mid 1960's went to Harare, still there mid 1980's .
Suspect that he married again, and at over 100 he must have died.
He may have come back to the UK.
His daughter (my wife) cannot request his military records without proof of death ,
or by waiting till 2027 !!!!
