Long Lost Family - Is this in poor taste?

Long Lost Family is a great television programme, full of genuine emotion and real people. However, interspersed through each episode are promotional clips from GenesReunited with actors faking their emotions. Am I the only one who finds this really creepy? Surely placing this fakery next to the genuine article only serves to make the programme seem exploitative and cynical. How did GenesReunited come up with such a counterproductive concept?

What else would you expect?

It's called 'advertising'

MarieCeleste Report 29 Jul 2013 23:13

Don't forget that the real people and the genuine emotion is directed and manipulated by a production team .....

.......who have set up themselves and their cameras in the person's home ready for the 'surprise' knock on the door by one of the presenters
