Hello Barry, welcome to the boards.

Unfortunately you have put your request on someone else's thread about an unrelated family. It would be better if you went to the Find Ancestors board and started a new thread of your own and then people will see it and try to help you.

Good luck.

Hi I'm looking for anyone related to Annie Mifsud married to Arthur Lockyer. Annie was born in Malta. There were four girls born in Malta, one of witch is my Grandmother. Once back in England by 1901 there were another four children three born in Devon and one in Walthamstow. Children, Edith, Bessie, Beatrice, Gessey, Gracy, Alfred, Florence, & Edward. Bessie died when an infant.

Thanks Barry

A women's maiden name stays with her more in Scotland. Most gravestones for a married woman are in her maiden name (eg Mary MacDonald wife of John Smith), so that may be why her death is registered under Fuller.

Another little update I have ordered both death certificates from Scottish people, 1 for Edith Fuller the other her older sister Maud. looks like I could be on to a winner here, all sound good dates of birth mother maiden name ect, ect, It also gave me a extra name for Maud ( Cairns) I have found a marriage for Maud Fuller to a James E Cairns in 1945 Westminster, but for some reason she was registered at death in her maiden name of Fuller ( I wonder why, divorced may be )

Regards
Diane.

Just a little follow up I think Potty you could be on to something with a death for Edith in 1984. I played around the site of Scottish People and found Edith Lilian Fuller born 1889 died 1984 Forfar, Angus.

If I buy credits to view the page what other information will it give me please ?
If nothing more then they is no point spending £ 7 as I have no other connection to Scotland.

Did you take any notice of the possible travel info?

Potty

Potty Report 9 Aug 2013 11:49

Diane, there is a contact tab on the airlie estates website. You could try writing to them.

Potty

Potty Report 9 Aug 2013 11:48

Diane, you can search for free on scotlandspeople, although you need credits to view the results. Nothing coming up for the 1911. One death coming up for an Edith Lilian Fuller of the right age from 1969 to 2012. By playing around with the dates, she died in Angus in 1984.

You will need credits to view the index and you will need to buy the extract to get the details as it is too recent to view online.

If Edith was a governess to an aristocratic family, she could possible have been abroad at the time of the 1911.

I have had a little look on http://www.airlieestates.com/ no luck

Has anyone got a spear credit for Scottish people just to see if Edith was there in1911 please.

Diane

Diane, nobody subscribes to Scotland's people - it's pay-per-view so you need credits.
I think I would check out the Ogilvy site as suggested by Potty.

Hi all,
I can find only her older sister Maud E Fuller (1883) in 1911 she was a teacher at a elementary school,

I have no marriage for her I don't think either sister married.

In 1926 Maud signed her mother death certificate as M. E. Fuller daughter, so she was not married at that time, also the story is that Edith tried to off load Maud to her older brother son and wife to no avail, this was around 1969/70 the couple had never met Maud before that day, and had only met Edith on a few occasions, after that day they never saw or heard of either of them again.

Diane.

This is the website for the Ogilvy estate - they might have staff records for that time:

That's odd, Reggie - his obituary in the Telegraph gives his birth as 14 Sept 1928, Cortachy Castle, in Angus but the Guardian says London! Well, wherever he was born, the family seat was Cortachy Castle, so Scotland is still a possibility.
