Which is the best genealogy websites for research and value for money, all the sites look expensive, so value for money must be the way ahead.

Billy, GR tend not to like these threads where comparisons with other sites are asked for...

but all sites have their supporters, either for the ease of search, or the areas covered, or because they hold specific records. For example one site has the London records, which if you have London relatives, are worth the subscription several times over.

The best way of knowing which site suits you best is to take offered free trials ( and remember to cancel before credit card payment is taken ).

Many free sites offer alternatives that you can't get on paying ones ( for example the Irish 1901/1911 census).

And of course there is FamilySearch ......

(OK to mention as it's a free site and therefore not a competitor of GR - many of us use it in conjunction)

Much depends on what, when and where you are interested in researching.
