can anyone tell me how to find a death in new zealand

MarieCeleste Report 19 Aug 2013 22:45

Hello Lynne, welcome to the boards.

It depends on how long ago?

Persephone Report 20 Aug 2013 00:00

Lynne. the NZ BMD works on the premise re deaths that you can

a) find someone who died at least fifty years ago or more

or b) If they died more recently they have to be 80 years old or more at the time of death.

If the death is outside those parameters you can message me with name etc and I will check the microfiche at the library for you.

I would get you to put it on this thread but am going on holiday for a short while so will be done when I get back.

Hi Lynne,

If you go to you may find the details you need.

As Lynne is a new poster, I'll send a friendly message on how to return to this thread. :-)
