If she is on the 1911 UK census, her place of birth might have been noted. Many Aliens Anglised their names.
As nameslessone has said, the records in Germany are held by the various regional offices, not centrally.

They do want to know how you, or rather your husband, is related before releasing any information. If you can work out the region she came from, use an on line translator to change into German and keep the sentences short and simple. Add the English original in the letter (or email) in case the translation went peculiar

Some German BMD are on Familysearch and also on Ancestry
You could try Nationalisation records on the National Archive site, although not all Aliens did so. is a good portal for various sites

I believe you have to write to the State offices, in German.

Im doing my mother in laws family tree. He mother was from Germany and i wondering how easy/hard it is to get hold of German records. Thank you
