Freebmd has a marriage in Sunderland in 1942 between a Mary L Sinclair and James Martin, followed by (probable) births in 1945 and 1946, also in Sunderland

This looks like her on the 1939 register, however it gives her new name as Martin although I can't find a marriage for her to a Mr. Martin :-
