Hi all,

I have found what I think is the BMD death cert for my husbands 4x Great Grandmother. As yet I have no information for her prior to the 1871 Census, when she was widowed and living with her son's family.

If I order the cert, will it give her maiden name? I have googled and found a site that said maiden name was included after 1969? is this correct please?

Advice welcome

Thank you

Her maiden name will not be on the death cert, The best way to find her maiden name is to buy the birth cert for one of her children

For info on BMD certs see http://home.clara.net/dixons/Certificates/indexbd.htm

Hi Porkie_Pie,

Thanks for the advice. the youngest of her children was born in 1827 so no birth cert for them.

I do have marriages for the children and the father is alive up until 1851 at least, but not found on the census.

Perhaps I will have to ask someone on the Ancestors board to help me out. I have not had much success with Elizabeth and Richard, perhaps new eyes is whats needed!

Thanks again for taking the time
