thanks pam thats the confusing part in the tree matches i have because dorothy was actually amy dorothy hall born in hove sussex, percy was married to someone he recieved a letter to say his wife had passed away that was from canada, he then left dorothy (amy) and married a shelia..... in 1946 ish, dorothy was in a childrens home in shoreham then moved to bradford, i have found the percy james that was born somerset he is not the one im looking for, i hope i have made sence thanks again tasha x

There is a tree on Ancestry that suggests that this is the Percy James that you need not the one born in Leeds.

If you know for certain that "your" Percy James married "Somebody" then you need to buy the marriage certificate for that marriage in order to find out who his father was. As there was no marriage for Percy and Dorothy so there is no way to check his parentage there.

A Percy James married Sarah Lamb on 8th August 1908 at 2.30 pm (I think that is the marriage you are referring to). The marriage registration states Percy's fathers' name as being Charles James.

i am lead to believe they never married because he was married to another lady which dorothy hall never knew about until his wife died in canada. im trying to find out how many children they had as the matches i have are saying different things, i hope im making sence x

hi all im trying to see if i have the right people, i have a percy james born 1889 in bradford he was dorothy may hall 1901-1977 i have a daughter for him as dorothy may james 1923-2001. im trying to find out if they had anymore children as some matches i have say percy had 11 children with dorothy hall and some who say he only had 1 daughter . any help here i would truly be grateful thx tasha
