Was he born in Shoreditch or just lived there ?

You really need to have the info to hand when you ask for help as you will get asked questions which will help with finding the information you are looking for.

Such as do you have a marriage cert - so give details from that cert - such as when and where, the name of father if named and his occupation - sometimes the witnesses are family members..

Have you found him on any census - so give brief details so the helpers can also look at those records.

Claire, lots of John Giles born about that time. Can you give us a bit more info? You must have got back to him somehow.

Did he have any children? If so, what were their names and when and where were they born? Have you found him on any census?

Did he die in 1872 in Kingston, Surrey ?

All I know about John is that he was born in 1818 in Shoreditch
Probably married Eleanor Lines who was born in 1820 in Shoreditch
And he had those children.
