Does anyone know if they is a list of pupils and were I can view the list

My Father was an orphan about 1912 but he never said where he stayed

Reggie Report 24 Sep 2013 09:00

There is probably a record at the County Records Office

Why have picked on this institution, if your father didn't give you info about where he was placed?

mauricef Report 24 Sep 2013 10:02

My father lived at Hope Road Ealing in 1911, His Father seperated from his wife and he moved to Scotland. So I am looking for the nearest Orphange, so I can start my search for any info.

The London Metropolitain Archives have records of Admissions and Discharge to the many orphanges and Industrial shools in and around London,Maurice, but unless the homes name is known it could be an unforgiving many were sent out of London.

The child was not an orphan if his parents were alive

Carol Report 24 Sep 2013 22:39

OP states father was an orphan abt 1912.

So he may not have been an orphan in 1911 (2nd April) when the census was taken (as posted by patchem)

Reggie Report 24 Sep 2013 22:59

NO mention of either parent DYING

His Father seperated from his wife and he moved to Scotland.

Carol Report 24 Sep 2013 23:18

OP states father separated from his wife and moved to Scotland

What happened to the mother?

If for whatever reason a child is 'without parents' they would see themselves as an orphan, ie they have no parental support

mauricef Report 26 Sep 2013 08:34

Can anyone throw any light on my fathers sisters Bessie Edith Cain and Ada Ellen Cain, who I never knew because my father never mention them.

You have started another thread about Bessie and Ada

Its best to keep to this one thread for the same family
