I thought okay give this a go Persie.. I used to have photos in my old tree which were so easy to do and you could click on what sort of frame you would like around the photo.

It does work David but is an exercise in perseverance. And the photo does come out clearly but I would say that the instructions are not clear.. you end up with two screens one to upload to this keepsake box and then your tree as well.

I think a "how to" should be supplied.. I can't see my OH managing to do this by himself he would need to phone a friend.

It can be done but a little tricky. I've managed to do four of them but it has been a real pain.

Click on person in tree, then click on edit.

Click on PHOTO icon then click on UPLOAD (this page opened in a separate tab) - click BROWSE and download photo from computer. You should see File Chosen – click NEXT then upload to Keepsafe. The photo should now be attached to the person in the tree that you have selected.

Go back to Family Tree Edit page and go to bottom of page and click on Full Profile. This should take you to another page with the avatar in the top left hand side of page. Click on this then go to the photo and “hover” and click “Set Profile Photo”

There should be a way to use a picture that is already in your Keepsafe but cannot figure out how to do this.

From the Help Guide on here:

Can I choose a profile picture?

Yes, you can. Simply click on the image currently showing on the top left hand side of your relation's profile page and you will be taken to the photos that are attached to this relation. Hover over the photo you would like to choose and click ‘Set Profile Photo’. This photo will now appear as the profile picture both here and in the tree.

Added:
Which is what jan has said, I think.

Added:
Cannot see 'Set Profile Photo' anywhere when I tried. I hovered, nothing to click. :-(

No, that doesn't change the avatar on the tree - I tried it just now.

Yes, the male and female avatars on my family tree, not the discussion boards...

Shirley,

Possibly David means the 'avatars' in his family tree, not on the boards?

Mine is OH maternal gran and her sister .

you have to have the picture on your PC I think to upload it

Hi all,

I'm sure I've read somewhere here that you can substitute photographs of people instead of the 'male' and 'female' avatars on your family tree. Try as I might, I just cannot seem to find it - maybe I dreamed it all!

I'd be greatful if someone would let me know whether it's possible or not, and if it is, how to go about it.

Many thanks in advance...

David
