Not that I know 1900's your Bessie, but...
Although not all births were rego'ed pre-1875, an Aug 1850 birth (as per 1900) would most likely be rego'ed in 1850q3, and this is the only one that fits:

Births Sep 1850 (>99%)
Baker Cornelius Dudley 18 351

West Midlands Birth indexes for the years: 1850
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
BAKER Cornelius Tipton Sandwell Register Office TIP/29/457

Hi +++DetEcTive+++

I suppose that could be his father. so might be relevant. I will take it anyway as you never know it might prove useful in the future.

Thanks again,

Lou

Hi Maureen,

I suppose that could be them in 1920 no wonder I couldn't find them, but where is John Trent's wife?? I know she was dead by 1937 - I wonder if she died when Russell was a baby?

I don't know about you both but my head is spinning now. this family have always been confusing. You should hear about their gt grandfather's children that will make you really spin.

Thanks Lou

:-)

Hi again,

Haven't read all your info but Betsey was his mother's name or Elizabeth.

Lou

update;

OOh that is confusing, but I suppose it's just possible. Before his mother's family emigrated his aunt was baptised Mary but on the immigration records and passenger records she's known as Polly!! His mother was baptised as Bessie but was known as Elizabeth or Betsy. So with this lot anything is possible.

That's him, that's brilliant, thanks so much as I didn't find anything about his burial although I did find a mention of a death which did match.

His wife's info is also brilliant.

Thanks so much, at least it's a little more to go on.

Good hunting to you in your own research.

Much appreciated,

Regards Lou

This is confusing. Could Henrietta have been known as Betsy or has the submitter got muddled?

I've just found my ancestor on the LDS site, but can't find his birth. Was wondering if anyone has access to Ancestry World would do a look up for me please.

Russell Trent born 1917 Pennsylvania. Parents John Trent and Elizabeth Baker.

I have him in 1930 living with his aunt and uncle in Penn. And 1940 with his wife Henrietta. I've also found his marriage in 1937, which matches his mother's maiden name of Baker. But I cannot find his birth;

I have searched the same site for the marriage of his parents but I can't find that either.

She was born in Pennsylvania in 1886. She could also go under the name of Bessie / Betsey / Elizabeth.

Really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Thanks in advance

Lou
