Hi everybody
I am a bit puzzled by the following -

Wilfred J H Shepherd Marriage 1949 marries March Quarter Surrey N W District vol 5g pg 1196 - there are two entries for his wife with different surnames Johnsen and Harwood. The following are all the entries from freeBMD.

Hampshire Cyril L R Wigman Surrey N.W. 5g 1196
Harwood Phoebe A S Shepherd Surrey N.W. 5g 1196
Johnsen Phoebe A S Shepherd Surrey N.W. 5g 1196
Shepherd Wilfred J H Johnsen Surrey N.W. 5g 1196
Shepherd Wilfred J H Harwood Surrey N.W. 5g 1196
Wigman Daphne P Hampshire Surrey N.W. 5g 1196

Has anybody any theory/explanation as to why Wilfred's bride would appear twice with two different surnames ?

Any suggestions much appreciated

Possibly previously married and it shows both maiden name and first married name?
