I agree with you DetEcTive. I will have to make sure it's ALL correct, not easy!

With the records available on line, we'd probably come to the same conclusion as you.

Unfortunately the further back you go, the greater the likelihood that errors can creep in.

Records have been lost. may be illegible or could be transcribed differently to your interpretation.

A marriage has been in the brides home parish which isn't on line. Consequently you choose one which is available.
John Brown marries a Mary. Unfortunately his cousin also called John Brown also marries a Mary! If you select the wrong couple, you end up following the incorrect line.

If you feel happy with your research, then that is all that matters. Just keep in the back of your mind that you could have inadvertently made an error

I'm glad I have family links with Kent, seems like a lot of interesting things were going on there way back in the past... Canterbury C etc...

The Austin surname comes from: St. Augustine, the Augustinian Friars are sometimes called the Austin Friars.

'Speculative' is the right word Reggie. I got info on here, and various other places...

To find links on GR..look in 'search all trees'

To verify your 'info'....................visit the County Records Office

Although a lot of what you have 'found' seems very speculative.............what are your sources?

This is how my Austin family line seems to go: Elizabeth Austin married William Drury, I think Elizabeth was born abt 1762 ? Her parents were: Edward Austin and Sarah Kingsland. Edward's parents were: Edward Austin born abt 1688, and Elizabeth Whittingham. Edward's parents: Robert Austin born abt 1661, and Mary Oliver. Robert's parents: Robert Austin born abt 1628, and Ann Hussey. Robert's parents: Robert Austin born abt 1600 and Ellen. Robert's parents were: John Austin born abt 1560, and Joan Berry. John's parents: Robert Austin born abt 1528, and Elizabeth A'Denne or Adenne perhaps adeane ? Robert's parents: Sir ? Stephen Austin born abt 1484 and Dorothy Packham. Stephen's parents: Richard Austin and Elizabeth Presten. WOW!!! lol Not sure if ALL the above is correct ? Perhaps there is someone out there... who would like to check it out, or someone with a family link could contact me.
