Greeting's Again Tom.... Can you clarify the ' Old Papers ' ? Is that Newspapers ? If so I would have thought they would be only viewed via Overhead projectors film. I know they do sell fiches. Last time I knew these were aprox. £3.00 each. So can you clarify then I'll ask for you this week at the Records Office. MIKE.

I tried Camilla Law just before I went out, only just got down to sit at the computer now. Wish I could find Sarah 1841 and then maybe I could get somewhere. She must have made an impression if Kirkman was my grandads middle name!. Lots of searching to do but a bit late now Elaine

I wonder if anyone has any connection to Melbourne Hall, Leicester? My great grandfather was a missionary in China and was somehow supported by this church. I know they had a newsletter to which he contributed articles about his work in China and they too wrote about him and his family. The names are Frank and Marjorie HARMON and it would be from 1880ish to 1940s. Suzanne

Hi Mike, I'm trying to find the Birth/Christening date for an Edward Blount born 1829 in Leicester. I'm not sure which part of Leicester, as I only have this information from the censuses that I've found him on. Edward is the furthest I've got back to, so anything more on him or any of his ascendents would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Stacey.

Hi Mike Are you going to the records office this week? Was hoping you could have a peek at this and tell me which church it was or help me with some background from your vast knowledge. GEORGE MOORE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Adult Christening: 08 SEP 1829 Nailstone, Leicester, England Age at Adult Christening: 50 Batch No CO96331 It seems some of the early Moores are baptists, have chased his son's marriage to Hugglescote and spoke to the Rector who says the marriage according to the wording would be Cof E and then would have been St James's (chapel of ease) which has now been knocked down. That one was 24 Jan 1843 George Moore and Sarah Kendrick Chapel of Hugglescote,Ibstock, Leicester For George the younger have this and think it is C of E looking at a list I have found St. John The Baptist Church, Whitwick. 279 31 July 1816 Moor George son of George and Ann Thringstone Framework Knitter What do you think?
