your main problem is the french link-if they married in france which is very possible-you are flogging a dead horse !

The Ego

The Ego Report 27 Mar 2006 16:09

there are 4 others after that that are possible-birth registration then dint show the mothers maiden name-so its impossible to nail the name down without the marriage.

Hi again, Thanks for looking for me. Elizabeth Dicker married an Ezekial Cole in 1877. Her parents names were Thomas and Mary Dicker. She was baptised on 5th September 1854 in South Warnborough. I can't understand why I can't find a record of her birth. Thanks again for your help, Jackie.

Yes ive got the name from her daughters birth cert, ive only ever seen it with 2 l's but it most def only has one listed on the mothers details..so unless the registrar mis-spelt it?? Tthe craven im not sure of as i got that from the 1871 census that someone looked up for me.. things are never simple for me so i wouldnt expect any less of my rellies lol..i need the address of the space ship half of them disappear too when it was census time too.

The Ego Report 27 Mar 2006 11:31

its also possible her name was really Hassall (double L) david horner married a mary ann goodliff in huntingdon 21 sep 1866 also the mary ann hassall 2nd marriage?? seems to be to a benjamin crosby, not craven, and in another area.?? strange that both marriages dont show up- are you sure of these names?

The Ego Report 27 Mar 2006 11:08

the only david horner marriage for the period 1860-1866 is in Leeds, but not to a Mary Ann Hassal ??? it is possible they never married and just declared such for keeping up appearances on the census.

Hiya, thankyou for your kind offer!! would appreciate a hand trying to track down a(2) marriage's 1st one David Horner b.1843c leeds and mary-ann hassal b.1841 leeds. They had a daughter annie born 1866 in Leeds if thats any help? know david had died somewhere between 1861-1867..and i think ive got the correct death for him now(aug 1867 in horton,b'ford) believe Mary-ann Hassal then remarried to a Benjamin Craven b.1843 bradford as they are on the 1871 census together with Mary-ann and davids daughter annie Horner. thanks again.x
