Hi Kat re. Joseph Onions in later census they were down as Iunions, Amons and Unions. Joseph married Louisa Stanton in 1842 Rushall so I assumed they still lived in Walsall. Thanks again for trying. Chris.

SARA Sorry, not much help I'm afraid. No James Holden in Nottinghamshire all parishes aged between 36 and 45, have tried variants. Sheltons There are 57 in Gedling and 394 in whole of Notts all ages. You will have to be more specific for me to find anything, sorry. Kat

kat, thanks for checking, james holden is a big mystery, cant find him on any of the census (1851 - 1901). 3 of his 4 kids were born in gedlng (wife, pattys home town), but im wondering if he and his wife died young and the kids were sent up to g/parents in yorks. as for the sheltons could be a george (c 1779), james (c 1785), william (c 1787), john (c 1788), thomas (c 1792), william (c 1794), robert (c 1801). seem to have been born in the gedling, notts area, but i only have baptism records to go on. the rest were all girls, im assuming they married. thank, sara
