John

John Report 12 Feb 2006 11:44

Hi Kat My name is John Engle from Balmain Sydney I know you will hate this but I am chasing up my ggg grandmother Catherine Jones, age 45 ie born about 1816 in Cardigan wife and John Jones, age 44 born about 1816/7 in Moylgrove Pembrokeshire near Cardigan, dockgate man who were in Cardiff in 1861 census (sorry can't read the street name) By then they had 3 sons, John Jones age 16, Benjamin aged 10 and David aged 2 as well as a daughter Margaret aged 6. Is it possible to find Catherine and John Jones in the 1851 census,at that time John and Catherine would be about 35, John jnr would have been about 6 and Benjamin may or may not have just arrived. Also but even more improbable could you find them in 1841, Catherine would be about 25 and John about 24 or 25. They may have arrived in Cardiff if married or they may still be back in Pembrokeshire. Sorry about the mission impossible but I am making heavy weather of tracing these Jones back in Wales. Regards John Engle

Hi Kat, I wonder if you would do another look up for me please? I am looking for John Emmerson born Mendham Suffolk about 1820. I believe he was still in Suffolk but he may have moved to Pulham St Mary Magdalen in Norfolk by 1841. If he is married his wife is Mary Ann. If he is still with his parents they are William and Jane. Hope that makes sense! Many thanks, Frances
