Hi Mike, Sorry to trouble you again, you may remember that I am searching for members of the Moore family from Gilmorton who moved to South Yorks. From the details you kindly gave from the 1841 census I have arrived at the 1871:- Head Henry Moore c1828 Gill Morton now living in Greasbrough Yorkshire (wife Martha) he has a son Samuel born in Husbandbodsworth c1852 however the only Samuel Moore that I can find on the 1881 census is a Samuel Moore c 1850 Gilmonton (wife Jane) living in Greasboro. They look as if they could be the same to me, but I'm reluctant to add him as he has lots of children in later years. have you access to birth records ? or what is your opinion. Best Wishes Dennis

Thanks once again Mike but it looks this time as if Beverly has solved the mystery. I searched 1891 & 1901 for a Samuel Moor without success (as I hoped) then added the E & found Samuel Moore in both 1891 & 1901 with the same wife as the Samuel Moor so it looks as if they are the same although the birthplace changed from Bosworth Leicestershire to Coventry Warwickshire. I will put A box of chocs in the post to Beverly, sorry I don't know your address, so I'll have to eat them myself, but think of you as I do. Best Wishes Dennis UPDATE Joseph Coleman was the illegitimate son of Ann Coleman & Timothy Moore, Joseph sometimes used the name Moore after his parents married, another member gave me this info. after contacting the GRO.

Can any one look at the 1841 census please. I have George Black born abt 1842 Rearsby, in 1851 parents are Thomas born 1788 and Ann. I also have a Mary Black born abt 1831, Quiniborough, according to the IGI parents are Thomas and Elizabeth (not with parents from 1851 on). Mary's children and Georges children are supposed to be cousins. So, I would like to try and find out if it is the same Thomas as father to both. Can any one help please? Trixie Update: Thomas and Elizabeth have been found in 1841, This Thomas born abt. 1811 so now wondering if he is Thomas born 1788 son. The 2 families are connected but I can't work out how!
