Christopher

Christopher Report 18 May 2005 12:37

Hello Jess. Would you be kind enough to look in 1861 family history for me? I am interested in the Hardcastle family. In 1871 they were living at 29 Wards Fold in Leeds and the family comprised of. Lucas Hardcastle 1825, Head. Sarah Hardcastle 1823, Wife. William Hardcastle 1842, Son. Maurice Hardcastle, 1852. Henry Hardcastle, 1856. Emma Hardcastle, 1862. Clara Hardcastle, 1864. Jane Hardcastle,1866. The whole family were born in Leeds except Sarah who was born in the West Indies. I also have the 1881 details, but what is a puzzle, is the fact I cannot find Maurice in BMD nor going through Births from 1842 to 1870 for the whole of England at my local library. And I am wondering if the name is wrong. Can you look in 1861 to see if you can find any other details, which is missing? Kind regards, Christopher

Kirsty, where were they living when Alice was born? might help in locating where they married

Kirsty

Kirsty Report 18 May 2005 12:53

Jess, Alice Ketteringham was born at what looks like Blackborough, middleton Norfolk 1891 so i believe they were married in norfolk. The next child down was born at Wildmore Fen Lincs so looks like they moved to Emma's home later. Do you think they may of married a earlier than five years before Alice was born. Thanks for your time Kirsty x

Kirsty- going over some old ground 1891 census Ketteringham, Alice abt 1889 Middleton, Norfolk Daughter Middleton Norfolk Ketteringham, Emma abt 1868 Ny Wife Middleton Norfolk Ketteringham, Lulia abt 1889 Middleton, Norfolk Daughter Middleton Norfolk Ketteringham, William abt 1861 Middleton, Norfolk Head Middleton Norfolk Lulia is actually what looks like JULIA and was aged 2 so born 1889 Alice was 2 months ...thought for a moment they were twins. So Alice was not their first born. ------------------------------------------------- William is still at home in 1881, so they must have married between the two, if they married of course!

hi jess thanks for your reply.out of the list you sent me i think it is going to be either the william kelly born liverpool 1849,or the william kelly born liverpool 1850 as the others dont match up to date of birth.i do not think he was born in litherland so i can possibly eliminate that william kelly.all i know is he married in 1872 and was living in the park lane/st james street area of liverpool and his occupation was a shipwright.his father was a john kelly but was deceased on marriage cert.could you check the 1861 and 1871 census thanks for your help . rob
