Although i don't have family in Stoke, I am very interested in the area as I live here so thanks for this thread. I am also about a 1/4 of the way round St. Johns Churchyard taking the names and dates off the stones (the readable ones anyway) if anyone wants me to find a name? Pam

Received: 7th. June "Dear all, I've made a few updates and additions to UKBMD tonight. The Wisbech site has a new URL and Cheshire and Durham have new sites added to their respective lists. The other main addition is BMDIndex.co.uk , accessible via the 'National' button or via selecting England or Wales from the 'County' list. Has anyone any experience of using this site ? First impression is that it's a rival to 1837online. Anyone tried it yet ? regards, Ian Hartas" This brought a reply from Susan Nicholson: "Taking a quick look at BMDIndex.co.uk, the mapping facility certainly looks interesting. I suppose its popularity will depend on how quickly they can get the information on-line. Nice to know that nothing will rival UKBMD once finished - especially if we had a mapping facility too ! Or if we simply had a clickable map showing registration districts (off into a dream again)"
