I'm looking for: OTTAWAY, Amy. not sure of birth date but some time around 1900ish. STOKES, Thomas. again not sure of birth date. They both lived in Kent, somewhere around Halstow/Upchurch area. Not sure of the date they were married. Amy died in 1931, Thomas only a few years later. They had several children, including my grandfather; Thomas, Charles, Ernest (my grandfather) Daisy, Annie, Alice (possibly another brother, but not sure). any info on Thomas and Amy would be much apprecaited, thank you Amy Stokes

For all of you, take a look at this site which lists gravestone inscriptions from many, many cemeteries. I have found it really helpful. Incidentally, I recognise quite a few names from the area I live in (Tenterden) so why not try the phone books and start writing to the living?
