Georgina What is classed as incredibly unusual? As a transcriber for FreeBMD, I never cease to be amazed at some of the names I see. An ancester - a male - on my husband's side had the name Flower - which I always thought was unusual for a man. But it's not - I've transcribed quite a few of them! I have a great grandmother named Hephzibar Hopkins on my mother's side, and my grandfather on my father's side was named Henry Alfred Garibaldi Bradshaw Frasi. Now THAT I would call unique! Whilst researching my family found someone actually named their child Napoleon Bonaparte Solomon!!! This was back in mid 1800's. Someone else added message that Ephraim was odd name but actually very common back in the day! Def had a laugh reading all these names but reality is someone has to live with that please please think before you name your child something bizarre, saying that my cousin just named child Levi! Why oh Why.
