Search Records

Top tip - searching the records

What am I searching?

  • When you choose to search records, we search a huge database of historical records for names that match your search criteria.
  • This includes Census records dating from 1841, Birth, Marriage and Death Records, Military, Parish and Travel records.
  • You can perform a search even if all the information you have is a surname.
  • Some of these records were recorded hundreds of years ago so try not to be too specific when it comes to 'Birth place' as names of locations can change.
