Good evening all

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am trying to find out how you went about emigrating to another country - specifically in my case Canada. What kind of paperwork would be required and did you have to get permisson from the government? Things along that line.

Any help always appreciated.

Regards.

Hi again

Could someone please look up or point me the right way to find out about possible births in Canada?

The parents would be Harold Charles, born about 1895, and Lilian Charles nee Hodson - both born in England. Harold and Lilian were married in 1919 and had a son John born about 1923. Trying to find out if they had any other children.

I am also trying to find out about Harold's brother Reginald also born in England about 1900 - who he married and did they have children.

The brothers went to Canada in 1909 but were in Detroit in 1930 but I don't know anymore after that.

I don't know if this information is easy to come by because it is relatively recent.

Thank you.

Hi Margee

Thank you.

I already have the information about them arriving except I didn't have the date of arrival so thank you for that.

As I said I don't hold out much hope for anything more because 1930 is quite recent but I thought I would see if anyone could help me in case I had missed something.

I have been on the sites all night but could not find anything.

Thanks you again. :-)

Wow Margee yiou've come up trumps.

Yes Harold's mother was Mary Ann Johnson.

And I have just learnt this evening thar Harold's wife Lilian's parents both also died in Los Angeles.

This is something I have been trying to find out because I think that the Charles family knew the Hodson family before they went to Canada.

Thank you so much.

[I read it as WR - check out W in Williams in next h/h
addy=2?? Claremont St - it crosses Dundas abt 4 blks W of Toronto Western Hospital -
it's parallel to Bellwoods Ave, so the # ought to be not too far off 177]

I don't see them in the 1921 Toronto directory:
