I hve hit a brick wall my great grandfather John Pond born in Iver Buckinghamshire in the 1841 census there are two John Ponds both aged 12 |

I'd say that the John who was in Langley is most likely to be yours as he is still unmarried in the 1851 census. Iver is also quite close to Langley. This would make his parents Joseph and Mary Pond. |

If there was no Father's name on his marriage certificate it could mean that he was illegitimate. |

It seems he is older than we thought. It doesn't look as if either of those age 12 on the 1841 census can be him. |

The IGi gives us a John Pond born 1812 in Iver Buckinghamshire the son of John and Ann Pond. But there is no evidence to show that this is him as there is no name given on his marriage certificate. |
