Violet and Daisy Dodd sisters did they emigrate

Daisy Dodd born Nov 1893 Enfield, Middx and Violet born 1899 were with their parents in Edmonton on 1901 Census, when the mother died in 1902 all the children went their own ways.

Despite searching for a long time and asking for help they seem to have completely disappeared.

Violet could have been adopted and her name changed but I think Daisy woud have been too old to do that. I wonder therefore if they emigrated ,I belong to Ancestry but do not have worldwide access and have looked at Find my Past emigration but with no luck.

Does anyone have access to any records where they could look these two up.

.

Thanks

Lesley

Hi Kath,

I have looked on the 1911 Census but when I looked at the transcript they had not been born in Enfield/Edmonton and were named as daughter (their father John was living with another relative on the Census with neither child there) I did find their sister Winifred as Winnie Dod (one d )with a relative. If you could give me a reference I could look again.

Thanks

Hi everyone

Thanks, you have all been so busy, John died in 1926, son Lewin Tyrell was informant. Tyrell married a Jessie Phillpot they both lived and died in Tottenham no children.

Percy, Albert and Archie were sent to Canada as "Home Children",( I am in touch with a grandson who didn't know about the other siblings) and Elsie went over 10 years later.

Ethel was adopted by weathly spinsters and lived a happy life in Surrey - unlike the poor boys who went to Canada, through her Will I found Mable who had a new Christian name also adopted and lived in Cornwall.

So I am just missing the three girls which I would love to do as neither Tyrell or Ethel had children.

Thanks again.

Hi Cathy,

Thanks for the marriage suggestion I thought I had aready sent for this but with a reference check for father John it was not sent to me, but could not remember

Interestingly enough there is a marriage for Elizabeth Dodd to Frank Plant 1921 which I could look at on the Metropolitian Archives on Ancestry (Violet's marriage in 1922 is too late for these records) and this give father's name as Andrew. I then checked on 1911 Census and there are sisters Violet and Elizabeth living with father Andrew. So it seems Elizabeth and Violet sisters both married Plant brothers.

At least by some research I have not wasted more money now £9.25.
