Trying to find parents of Henry Feakins born 1812 in Milton near Sittingbourne, Kent. The Feakins have been concentrated in this part of Kent for centuries and every other male seems to be named Henry. Can't find a birth or baptism for him although I have his marriage to Elizabeth Watler in 1833 and have found him on various census returns. Milton seems to be an area that covered several parishes with numerous churches. Is there anyway I can narrow it down. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks Anne I have this one. His year of birth is calculated from the census returns which I already have and I am aware it may not be correct but he was literate so it's probably fairly accurate.

Churches There are two Church of England churches in Milton: the ancient parish church, dedicated to St Peter and Paul,51°26′21″N 0°23′08″E / 51.4391°N 0.3855°E / 51.4391; 0.3855Coordinates: 51°26′21″N 0°23′08″E / 51.4391°N 0.3855°E / 51.4391; 0.3855 which is located in the original settlement[1]; and Christ Church, located at the western end of the original eccelesiastical parish. The latter was built in 1856 when the town of Gravesend began to grow eastwards[2] . There is also a United Reformed Church (St Paul's) and two small independent churches.

Thankyou Anne. I have a great long list of Feakins going back to late 1600's in Kent and I'm sure they are all related to my missing Henry but without his parents names I can't find the link. Will check out the churches you have given me and see if I can find anything there. Thanks for your help. The spelling doesn't help. I've found them under Figgins, Fikins, Feekins, Freakins and many more.
