Must admit had problems with this line. My Edward born 1840 was not baptised til 11..5.1845 in London, 1881 census therefore shows he was born Marylebone. |

Hi Astra, The marriage details you show for 4.5.1840 are the ones I have been using, although did not know he was a widower at time of marriage, must have missed that. |

These look like the baptisms of their children. They seem to have had them done in a job lot |

Astra. Know Richard died 1850 also possibly a John that was born 1845. and cant find anything for Mary Ann after 1845, so maybe as they lost these 3 children had others living at time baptised. Just guessing. Although I also have a Thomas 1848-1917. Cant find huis baptism. |

jax, Thats intriguing. Have his 8 childrens births, if I have them correct that is, as 1840, 1842, 2x 1845, 1848, 2x 1850, 1854. (Can only trace 1 twin after infancy) Dates would fit with trial dates you list, so possible. Thanks. |

Its a shame as some of the Middlesex criminal registers gave discriptions of the person but these were not. |

Hi Astra. all I have for John is the birth year. I have often wondered why I couldnt find a baptism for him, as he would have been Mary Anns twin and she was baptised. Mary Ann born 11..3.1845, baptised 11.5.1845, then cant find anything, so possibly died infancy. Maybe John isnt mine and belongs to this Thomas and Mary you have found. Oh how I wish we could time travel back to the past, this would be so much simpler. |

From checking the London Births and Baptisms Thomas the Shoemaker and Mary seem to have only had their daughters baptised. Some families did this and some had only the sons baptised. Don't know why. |
