can anyone help me find some information on a Leonard Allen born c1898 possibly in east ham. he served in the navy and married a hilda wilson at sculcoates in hull between july-sept 1920. At a geuss i would say he was in the navy before then. i know he died in hull around the late 50's early 60.s but ive searched endlessly and not found a record of his death. I would love to find information on his parents etc. not sure if anyone has ways of getting info on wedding and birth ccertificates but thought i would ask. most grateful for any help

A possible for Leonard:

Allen Leonard Frederic W. Ham 4a 335

Cannot find a wedding for Leonard Allen and Hilda Wilson, looking both together and individually.

The 1901 census has several Leonards born 1898/9 in London.

If you have any other information to narrow the search please put it on here.

i have found them in the marriage section leonard allen and hilda wilson 1920 sculcoates july-sept. the lead i have is that leonard was born to a walter allen of east harptree somerset and louisa. I can trace walter back to his parents but i dont know if i have the right family. all we know is leonard had a london accent and told everyone he was from east ham. he died in hull while living with my mother in law she believes she was around the age of 7 she was born in1954. nobody in the family knows anything else about him, other than that he served in the navy at some point.

If you send for the marriage cert it should give his fathers name.
Occupations ,perhaps age and witnesses may be family

If it turns out, from the marriage certificate, to be the right family, then this is probably them:

Leonard Aylesbury Allen - 1897 - Oct-Dec - Paddington

Walter Aylesbury Allen - 1869 - Jul-Sep - Clutton, Somerset

Interesting! That marriage has not been transcribed on freebmd. Serves me right for not checking the scans for 1920!
