Hello, I am researching my Grandmother's family, from my mother's side. I recently found out my Great-Great-Grandfather was a Samuel Allen. I found this out from records at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) which records the death/disappearance of his son, my Great-Grandfather, Harry Allen,on 1st July 1916 - Battle of the Somme, WW1. Harry Allen (b c1979) and his family lived in South Grove, St Ann's Road, Tottenham, London, UK at the time of his (Harry's) death.

With further research I located a Harry Allen, aged 12, in the 1891 census in Tottenham, London. I am certain this is the same Harry Allen due the precise age and vicinity of the address. However, the records do not show a father at the address, only a Widow Margaret Allen. Harry shows he was been born in Cheadle, Cheshire, but Margaret was born in the Tottenham area (Holloway).
