I have a Robert Allen c 1816 born and died in Thornbury. have tried and tried to find a marriage for him, all I have is his eldest daughter born 1842 in Thornbury, any help with marriage or siblings for Robert, will be greatly appreciated.

It looks as though in that set of marriages Robert married Mary Ann Harvey.
The question is whether or not this is your couple as the ages are different here to those on the census..............but that was often the case. Have you purchased the oldest daughters birth certificate to confirm her mother's maiden name?

Oh dear!! That's odd because Mary on the 1851 is calling herself a widow!

I was going to say that there are several Robert Allens born in and around Thornbury at roughly the same time.
I feel sure that your Robert died and Mary was a widow in 1851. The fact that there is another Robert Allen showing in the later census records doesn't mean that it is the same one. So just be careful that you are following the correct line.
