HI can you good people help again, i have found my great grandfather on 1911 and 1901 census but cant find his birth
he was living with a family called stephens. it says he was born in torquay devon in approx 1889 but i cant see him have looked on free bmd and on here help please i need to order his birth cert

dont have birth cert has did not know enough details all ido know he was born out of marrage think his mum was called bessie bety or elizabeth allen and was brought up by the stephens family x

Did some checking to see whether the name Allen might have been connected with Elizabeth J Stephens, the head of that household where he was boarding.

In 1871, the head of household was WS Stephens, how helpful. I think this is their marriage:
