Hi, Thomas Oliver ANDERSON was born in 1920 in Kirkaldy, Scotland - I want to get his birth cert. to find who his parents are? Do you know how I can look up the references, please?

Are you in Scotland Valerie? You could visit New Register House (general registrars of Scotland) in Edinburgh - costs £10 for a days unlimited searching - most images have been digitised. If this is out of the question, you could contact them and order a copy to be sent to you.

On scotlandspeople.gov.uk you would be able to get the image reference number, but not view the image as there is still a 100year rule when it comes to viewing births online (75 years for marriage & 50yrs for death).

Hello, thanks you for your reply.
I know the birth date as 22 Dec and have ordered many certiifcates but never scottish ones. I have found the page you mention but not sure how to look up.
thanks again.
