Hi all Anderson researchers. I am trying to trace the ancestors of Dave Anderson born presumably Scotland abt1893 (or possibly Lancaster area?) who was married to Jessie (Airton) They ran the Pineapple hotel in Halifax and then the Rose and Crown (where Marks and Spencer was, now Wilkinsons) and finally the Saddle. no children by the marriage.Jessi was known in the trade as Madam. They were friendly with the Haley's who ran the White Horse at that time. Did Dave go on to marry following Jessie's death? Jessie died in Siddal Halifax in a house built for them for retirement. The Whitehouse I think it was called. Dave was a footballer for Hearts, in Scotland, Preston, Swansea and Rosewell I think this must have been1915 to mid 1920's?? I believe Moira Anderson the singer features in the line up somewhere. May be his niece?? He moved to Halifax with his wife after their elopement and played for Halifax town in the first game at the Shay in 03/09/1921 Help please!. Or just memories of those Halifax town hostelries!!
