I am trying to find the maiden name of Ann Bridge who was born in Kingsbury Episcopi, Somerset c1817. I can find her throughout the censuses under her married name of Bridge (or Bridges as some censuses show, but have no idea of her name before marriage. Children are Mary Ann born c1837 and Sarah b 1845. Kingsbury PR show a William Bridge married Elizabeth Bonning, but no mention of Ann. Thanks for any help you can give. |

Thanks - thought I'd reached a dead end. William was born in Puckington, near Ilminster Somerset, not sure whether his birth would be registered in Chard district or Langport. I will follow up on birth certificate for Mary and see where that leads. I take your point about the age gap between William and Ann and will investigate further. Thanks so much. |

I have found both WIlliam and Ann in census info from 1841 to 1871. In the 1881 census Ann is a widow. Thanks heaps for everyone's help - I will apply for Mary's birth certificate and let you know how I go. |

I think I may have a breakthrough - I noticed in the 1841 census that a Susan Priddle was living with William and Ann. The rounding of ages in the census showed them both aged 20, but I guessed they could be sisters, and have found that an Ann Priddle married William Bridge in 1836 in Curry Rivel. Ann Priddle is shown in Kingsbury Episcopi Baptism records in October 1816 - which seems to fit. I will get Ann's birth certificate to confirm. |
